David Chi, MD PhD is a fellowship-trained hand and plastic reconstructive surgeon.
Dr. Chi graduated from Harvard Medical School in the combined MD/PhD program, earning his doctoral thesis in breast cancer genomics at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He then completed residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and an orthopedic hand and microvascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
In addition to specializing in brachial plexus/peripheral nerve surgery and wrist arthroscopy/carpal instability, Dr. Chi serves in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps, where he holds the rank of major. He is also an active surgeon-scientist, directing a basic science and translational research program aimed at understanding the genomic mechanisms of peripheral nerve regeneration.
